Program description
The Study Plan for the Doctorate in Chemistry contemplates activities such as theoretical courses, research units, graduation project (thesis) whose sequence and duration are described in the curricular framework.
Upon entering the Doctoral Program in Chemistry, each student will select a scholar from the doctoral faculty or, otherwise, one will be designated by the Doctoral Program Committee (CPD). This scholar has the function of guiding the academic activities of the student.
Based on the syllabus and in accordance with the dates established by the University, the CPD will set the academic calendar that the student must comply with each semester, which will be informed at the beginning of the semester.
General Objective of the Program:
- Support and promote the development of scientific research in the country in the field of Chemistry, through the formation of advanced human capital.
Specific Objectives of the Program:
- Support and promote the development of scientific research in the country in the field of Chemistry, through the formation of advanced human capital.
- Form scientists in the area of chemistry capable of generating and adapting knowledge to basic and applied scientific development to the country through innovative strategies.
- Contribute to meeting the demand in Chile for high-level scientists at the national and international level.
- Train scientists capable of leading and/or developing research work that generates knowledge in various areas of chemistry.
