Degree and Doctorate in Chemistry from the Universidad de Chile. Professor at the Universidad de Santiago de Chile, Faculty of Chemistry and Biology, Department of Environmental Sciences, photochemistry laboratory. PhD Rubio has received the "Distinguished Professor" award from the Faculty of Chemistry and Biology, Usach.
Also, she has dedicated her professional work for teaching, researching and working at the University administration. She has been Treasurer of the Chilean Society of Chemistry; Vice Dean of Teaching; Director of the Doctorate in Chemistry, Usach; Head of Degree in Chemistry, Usach; Faculty Advisor, Member of the Scientific Committee in Research Management, Dicyt-Usach. Head of the Faculty Criteria Commission and representative before the higher commission Usach
She has around 80 publications in indexed journals and 3 book chapters.
She has guided more than 50 undergraduate, 11 master's and 4 doctorate theses. She has been a Referee of external and internal research projects and scientific articles.

Research Area: 

She has conducted research projects on environmental Chemistry topics: Atmospheric Chemistry and Chemistry of aquatic systems. Main results are related to evaluate oxidizing capacity Santiago atmosphere and the determination nitrated phenols in gas phase and in atmospheric particulate matter. The main results on the subject of water pollution are related to design, manufacture, etc. Nano materials capable for removing heavy metals and metalloids from aqueous matrices from diverse origin. The application in removal and its chemical stability to environmental factors are studied.
